So I don’t know about yall but I am definitely down for vacation.  I am currently on a sort of vacation right now. In case you couldn’t tell, I am not from NYC originally, in fact I live across the river.  Don’t knock it quite yet.  As a commuter into the city (which some of you are, don’t deny it, I see you on the PATH train there), I am always on the look out for interesting sunglasses to share.  Most of the time, I see the classic Ray Bans and aviator styles.  Just to let you know there are other styles out there, so don’t be shy.  Let the summer vacation be the place to show your stuff! Cat-Eye for Women:

Personally, I’ve grown to love the cat-eye style that Tom Ford presented last year.  Well, let the trend continue!

These are the frames I was talking about from Tom Ford.  I love these, but they are from last year.

These are more like it! Yves Saint Laurent has the classic style of cat-eye with a little twist. The cheetah print on the plastic as well as the gold arms of the sunglasses make the perfect combination!

For the Boys: Squarish Frames

This pair from Gucci is super chic, for the boys.  I love the thicker side arms and the boldness they create.  If you can find a pair with a bright color on the inside, it would make the sunglasses much more bold! And you’d stand out from all the other boring guys in black shades.  Plus, you can let your aviators rest for a bit before putting them back on for work. 

Remember that vacations are your friend! Take a vacation! You definitely deserve one, plus you can try out your new sunglasses.  Like a test drive, but for your sunglasses.

Rock star in the making!

Every child deserves protection from the sun’s harmful rays and super cool style.  Whether we like to realize it or not, how kids dress when they are young reflects what they wear when they are older.  I know for me I still hate to wear shoes, hence my affinity for sandals. My mother remembers the time she had to go searching for that perfect pair of sandals for me…in the dead of winter.  I’m still pretty stubborn about my style, especially when it comes to sunglasses.  For me, they have to be chic yet affordable.  And not the kind that magazines deem affordable.  I’m talking about the pair that lasts forever that you got for cheap down near Canal Street. Those are always my favorite.  Hopefully, I’ll pass on my style to a small little tyke, or rather parents for children through this article!

These are perfect that daddy’s little girl.  The pink is perfect in that girly way for any little princess. The best part is that these have 100% UV protection to protect those precious eyes.  The plaid pattern on the side will help distinguish this pair from all the other sunglasses kids are wearing.  If pink is not baby-girl’s favorite color, the UrbanSpecs Kids Ella style also comes in red and yellow; both have a plaid pattern on the temple. 

These are the Solan style from Julbo.  These are great for that little man who just can’t seem to sit down! He’s always running around outside and getting into all sorts of mischief. They have a cool style so he’ll love them and always want to go outside and play.  Here’s a great plus: the lenses are scratch and impact resistant! That’s perfect for all those outdoor boys. 

This pair from Bolle reminds me of the ones in the photo featured at the top.  This just proves that the wayfarer shape is for anyone, young and old.  While these aren’t really on the cheap end for kids sunglasses, they do provide 100% UV protection and the most optimum clarity.  This way each kid will be protected and still super stylish!

Demi Lovato’s making a comeback.  I have always loved this girl’s style.  It is so effortless.  And now that she’s working her way back to loving herself just the way she is, I have more of an appreciation for her inner beauty as well as the obvious outer beauty.  The combination of red lips and those jet-black Ray-Bans is amazing! James Dean anyone? I love Grease… And just about anything associated with that time period.  Definitely this guy exudes that “Rebel without a cause” attitude. This is the Tom Ford Claude.  They’re an interesting take on the round lens with a more aviator styled frame.  Like the frames featured on the main picture, these frames give your fall style a little pop! Sunglasses are just an accessory to have all the time: winter, summer, fall, and even spring!

I love the wayfarer shape! There are just so many ways you can wear them. They are one of the most versatile shapes.  From reading glasses to sunglasses, most everyone can put on a pair of wayfarers and be completely satisfied. They are a contemporary take on the aviator style. The detail in the middle really stands out from other aviator sunglasses. This style comes in several other colors as well. The metal gold is a classic though.  If you’re looking for something that will set you apart from the crowd try these on for size. It’s the same style but with fuchsia on black.
