So I don’t know about yall but I am definitely down for vacation.  I am currently on a sort of vacation right now. In case you couldn’t tell, I am not from NYC originally, in fact I live across the river.  Don’t knock it quite yet.  As a commuter into the city (which some of you are, don’t deny it, I see you on the PATH train there), I am always on the look out for interesting sunglasses to share.  Most of the time, I see the classic Ray Bans and aviator styles.  Just to let you know there are other styles out there, so don’t be shy.  Let the summer vacation be the place to show your stuff! Check these out!

Cat-Eye for Women:

Personally, I’ve grown to love the cat-eye style that Tom Ford presented last year.  Well, let the trend continue!

These are the frames I was talking about from Tom Ford.  I love these, but they are from last year.

These are more like it! Yves Saint Laurent has the classic style of cat-eye with a little twist. The cheetah print on the plastic as well as the gold arms of the sunglasses make the perfect combination!

For the Boys: Squarish Frames

This pair from Gucci is super chic, for the boys.  I love the thicker side arms and the boldness they create.  If you can find a pair with a bright color on the inside, it would make the sunglasses much more bold! And you’d stand out from all the other boring guys in black shades.  Plus, you can let your aviators rest for a bit before putting them back on for work. 

Remember that vacations are your friend! Take a vacation! You definitely deserve one, plus you can try out your new sunglasses.  Like a test drive, but for your sunglasses.

Rock star in the making!

Every child deserves protection from the sun’s harmful rays and super cool style.  Whether we like to realize it or not, how kids dress when they are young reflects what they wear when they are older.  I know for me I still hate to wear shoes, hence my affinity for sandals. My mother remembers the time she had to go searching for that perfect pair of sandals for me…in the dead of winter.  I’m still pretty stubborn about my style, especially when it comes to sunglasses.  For me, they have to be chic yet affordable.  And not the kind that magazines deem affordable.  I’m talking about the pair that lasts forever that you got for cheap down near Canal Street. Those are always my favorite.  Hopefully, I’ll pass on my style to a small little tyke, or rather parents for children through this article!

These are perfect that daddy’s little girl.  The pink is perfect in that girly way for any little princess. The best part is that these have 100% UV protection to protect those precious eyes.  The plaid pattern on the side will help distinguish this pair from all the other sunglasses kids are wearing.  If pink is not baby-girl’s favorite color, the UrbanSpecs Kids Ella style also comes in red and yellow; both have a plaid pattern on the temple. 

These are the Solan style from Julbo.  These are great for that little man who just can’t seem to sit down! He’s always running around outside and getting into all sorts of mischief. They have a cool style so he’ll love them and always want to go outside and play.  Here’s a great plus: the lenses are scratch and impact resistant! That’s perfect for all those outdoor boys. 

This pair from Bolle reminds me of the ones in the photo featured at the top.  This just proves that the wayfarer shape is for anyone, young and old.  While these aren’t really on the cheap end for kids sunglasses, they do provide 100% UV protection and the most optimum clarity.  This way each kid will be protected and still super stylish!

One of the Olsen twins makes it clear that Aviators are here to stay.  They seem to just never go out of style.  They have that perfect fit for anyone who is in need of a wear-all pair of sunglasses.  These from Burberry are perfect for any season and any face shape.

While these have a brown tint, the very dark, almost black tint on the ones on Olsen are much more chic.  The Burberry ones do make a statement with their various colors. 

The above pair of sunglasses are a super sleek pair from Michael Michael Kors.  This Jet Set Mini Aviator is a polarized frame with adjustable nose pads, suited for complete comfort and style.  I love the detail on the temple that features the Michael Michael Kors logo.  The contrasting temple tips are perfect for comfort and style.

I love bright colors! Which reminds me that these are definitely going to be popular! They go perfectly with those colored jeans.  Can you picture it? A pair of bright colored jeans with a button down shirt and these sunglasses! This is the perfect combination to wear this spring.

Anyone up for some Tom Ford sunglasses? I love the new men’s and women’s lines for this spring! Mr. Ford always has something up his sleeve to set him apart from the competition.  I think it is definitely his effortless style that comes across in all of his designs.  But here the oversized bow frames are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see the rest of this collection!!

Aren’t these amazing? I’ve got to hand it to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.  Who knew that the once child-stars would end up being fabulous fashion designers? I love this collection of optical wear from the twins.  They have a newer take on the classic designs of glasses that we have all come to know.  They have a slight wayfarer shape but with a bit of flare. 

The ones in the upper left hand corner of the image above are a slight cat eye with the gold detailing making them to die for.  The combination of the tortoise and the gold is a perfect mix of the traditional colors of glasses and the shape breaks tradition while keeping to that epic style of Elizabeth and James. 

The fade frame in the third row creates an interesting look.  I love the two colors and love the fade.  It reminds me of the way wooden frames look around a window.  To be cliche, the eyes are the window to the soul. 

I can’t wait to see more from these two talented designers!
