{Did You Know?} Sport Sunglasses are so-o useful!

Safety is always important, especially when it comes to your eyes. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Mark Kotsay knows exactly what that means.  He always wears sunglasses during games to protect his eyes from the sun’s harmful rays and also to keep the glare away when looking straight up at the sun trying to catch a baseball.  More specifically, Kotsay has blue eyes making him more susceptible to glare.  The reduced sensitivity to contrast for those who have lighter colored eyes makes it harder for them to differentiate things in bright light.  Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton found that his light colored eyes affects his batting average when he plays in day games in contrast to when he plays in night games.

Sports sunglasses have so many uses because they protect your eyes and provide the maximum glare reduction.  They come in many different designs so you don’t have to keep the more traditional sport wrap-around style. They can be made of plastic or metal; it is all up to you to decide what kind of sport style sunglasses you want.

If you do play baseball or any outdoor sport, it may be best to go with a wrap style or something that is sure to stay put during activity.

This is the NYX Golf Sunglasses-Arrow. These frames are made from lightweight nylon with Bi-Radical lenses to reduce the bubble effect that is usually seen in wrap style sunglasses.

Above is the Smith Optics Parallel. This semi-rimless frame features non-slip nose and temple pads for complete comfort and stability when it comes to active-wear.

This is the Nike Skylon Ace Swift, a semi-rimless frame with rubber nose pads that ventilate making this a perfect style to wear outdoors. The lenses are scratch/impact-resistant which ensures great durability and longevity in terms of wear.

Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about those who need reading glasses!!! You too can read outdoors on the beach or out camping, wherever and whenever you please!

These are pretty sweet, right? The bi-focal lenses allow for reading or not (!) - wear them as sunglasses and the bifocals won’t interfere! The wrap frame is perfect for those looking for a traditional sport style frame.

Besides a wrap style frame, sport sunglasses can also come in more fashionable styles with the same protection and glare protection.  Like these:

The 2747/S from Persol is the perfect combination of sport and fashion.  The polarized lenses feature glare protection while simultaneously providing 100% UVA/UVB protection.

Maui Jim is known for their variety of sports sunglasses that feature ultimate protection from the sun as well as glare. Below is the Backyards by Maui Jim that have a super light-weight and durable rimless frame. These frames can be worn in salt water so they are perfect for a beach get-a-way or any boating activity.

For all those light-eye people out there, protect your eyes! They are important!
